I certainly owe a debt of gratitude to all of you who have worked with such passion and commitment over these past 5 years to create a solid foundation for our business model. I believe that we have firmly established our brand as well respected in the community for being innovative, for exceptional client care, and as having the most knowledgeable and professional agents in the area. In recent months especially, I can really feel our momentum begin to build in Williamsburg, just as it did a few years back in Newport News. Thank you for your dedication to our vision, and for making this more than just a place to work.

We’ve all been tested this past year or so, and I’m encouraged by your determination to stay focused and positive. It’s the attitude of winners. The highest level of growth is always achieved during times of stress. I look forward to 2009 being a year of much learning and growth, an even higher level of collaboration and team work, as we set new standards for our industry. And, as the market begins its correction, I look forward to enjoying the upside because we have “used the Winter to prepare for the Spring.”

As we launch the next 5 years, it will be critical to remember what brought us our initial success (a commitment to deliver an exceptional customer experience, and to maintain a higher standard of professionalism than our competitors), as well as to have the courage to embrace new ways of doing business, and not be afraid to break with traditions that are no longer productive as both the market and consumer evolve.
