If you’re like me, you just love watching the Olympics. There are so many inspirational stories, and it is so gratifying to see, over and over again, that training and hard work pays off regardless of someone’s beginning circumstances.
A common thread for all these athletes is the drive, and the power of goals. They all benchmark their progress constantly, and are always evaluating if they are on track for their end goal – 4 years out!
So, my question to you this morning is this: when is the last time you looked at your business plan? Do you even know if you’re on track for your 2012 goals? Are you where you wanted/expected to be at the midpoint of the year? If not, do you know why you’re off track?
Every coach will tell you that your odds of reaching your goals will increase dramatically by looking at them often. You have terrific resources available to you in eLMO – the Agent Summary report shows you in detail what you have accomplished this year, if you’re pacing for your goals in every category, how far ahead (or behind) you are compared to the same time last year, where your business is coming from, your average listing price and average days on market. I find it interesting to look at the current status on all the new listings you took this year…so you can quickly assess how many of your listings have sold, how many have expired or been withdrawn, etc. It’s also a good visual for releases, and what may be problem areas.
Donna and I look at the office goals EVERY day – are we on track to meet our goals for new listings, under contracts and closings? Are we outperforming last year, and by a wider margin than the market is up? That reality check is what keeps us focused. And, that’s exactly why we WILL reach our office goals this year.
