Cupcake Wars, of course!  2 offices, 1345 cupcakes, over $1,800 raised on behalf of the Lytle Law 5k for CHKD!

Hats off to Dewey for a FABULOUS idea, and a special thank you to our 4 dozen or so bakers who contributed the most creative and yummy cupcakes, lavishly displayed, that anyone has ever imagined!  Congratulations to Bonnie, Jennifer Stallings and Holly for your award winning efforts!  Thank you to Dulcie for capturing it all on film, and to our staff for keeping us reasonably organized and under control.

Best of all, it was a great fun day, an opportunity for everyone to enjoy some fellowship with past clients and new friends – all for a great cause.  I think this is definitely a fundraiser that we should make an annual event, so start dreaming up your cupcake creation for 2012!!

This year marks the 5^th anniversary of Lytle Law 5k “Run for the Kids”.  The race will be held on Saturday, May 21^st 2010.  The Lytle Law 5k was started by Brian Lytle back in 2007 and has grown over the years to be one of the biggest races on the Peninsula.

In addition to the 5k race, this event will also feature a “Miracle Mile” fun run/walk, free food and t-shirts for those participating, a raffle drawing for an iPad 2, live music, local vendors, awards and more! However, the best part about the Lytle Law 5k is that *ALL* the proceeds go to the The Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters!

Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters offers the most innovative, comprehensive and specialized care for newborns through teens providing the highest designation of neonatal intensive care in our region as well as specialty units forpediatric intensive care, rehabilitation, cancer treatment, medical and surgical care and transitional care. Whether a child needs hospitalization, ongoing care for a chronic illness, outpatient surgery or primary care, CHKD provides the staff, facilities and technologies that address the unique demands of childhood.                                                                                                                                 

Last year the Lytle Law 5k raised $17,672.77 bringing their total given to CHKD since 2007 to $50,506.23!

Are you a college basketball fan?  Do you like fantasy sports?  Do you support CHKD?  If you answered yes (or even “maybe”) to any of those questions, you should join the Liz Moore and Associates March Madness for CHKD bracket!

Here at Liz Moore & Associates, we don’t have a whole lot of free time.  But, when we do, we love to get together and share a good meal.  This year, we’ve launched a monthly luncheon, where several of our agents will host/hostess, serving a homemade meal to our team (agents, staff, and affiliates).  The cost of lunch is just $5, which will be donated to the charity of the chefs’ choice.  Our first feast this year was Italian, and Chef/Hostess Linda Molvar and Rebekah Sandridge cooked up a yummy storm *and* raised $120 for Relay for Life.  March’s luncheon, offered by Charlotte Turner and Grace Lacey, will serve homemade chicken and dumplings, with proceeds donated to Habitat for Humanity.
